MITECH MAS800 Portable spectrometer adopts the principle of energy and wavelength differences in X-ray generated by metal atoms when energy level flips, so as to analysis element type and content in alloy material. Small size and light weight makes it convenient to work on site. It is easy to operate without tricky skills.A variety of elemental content can be measured at once in solid/powder/liquid sample detection. It is also designed with low consumption, high speed analysis and high accuracy; widely used in quality control, alloy identification, exploration, ore mining and mineral grade control. MAS 800 is a necessary professional precision instrument to improve the production efficiency and pass rate as well as cost savings.
Function & application
Waste metal recycling, alloy material grade identification, precious metals(Such as stainless steel, low alloy steel, copper alloy, titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, tantalum alloy and other identification analysis) and other detection, prospecting detection, quality control, environmental analysis, ore, concentrate, tailings, slag and other minerals analysis and other fields( can detect up to 40 elements such as Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Zr, etc.).
Working Principle
The basic principle of this instrument is as follow: While X-ray hit the sample, the inner electrons of metal atoms are motivated to escape the track. As a result, the higher-level electronics with certain transition rules get in the trail and generate X-ray due to energy difference(Shown in figure above). The Atomic number varies, thus makes energy release differs, which gives out different kinds of X-rays. Element type and content in alloy material can be detected according to Peak position and its intensity.

Operating Method and Attentions
Instrument instruction
On and off
Note:“Measure settings”is only used when calibrating or maintaining.Don’t change it personally, or it may lead to measurement error.
Apparently, if the workpiece differs greatly in material, one bare database is not enough. So, users can select suitable one in “analysis database” to get accurate result.
In “X-ray mode”, when you choose “Auto”,it means X-ray tube works automatically as you press “Measure”; When “Manual” is chosen, you can turn it on and off yourself.
“Date&Time”makes it possible to know the time at once. And there are three different languages inside(Chinese,English,Korean) .Please select the one you need to operate.
Instrument calibration
Before measuring workpiece, it is suggested you measure the standard block to ensure accuracy. Check out if the result you get is the same as the standard one. If there is a huge deviation, you have to have it calibrated.
Calibration process: Set the standard block on the table and make sure the detection window touch against the surface of block. Click “Calibrate” button and start to measure. The calibration will be carried out automatically if needed.
Measurement
① First of all , you have to boot. Then you need to confirm the X-ray mode.Before all the measurement, make sure the X-ray indicator light is on; Otherwise you can’t measure.
② There are two modes for X-ray tube. Choose “Auto” or “Manual”.
③ Press “Measure” or Trigger switch to start.When the progress bar is finished , the details you need will be shown on the screen as a table.
④ As is shown in the figure above, and means measure start or end.means show the result in spectrum.means store the result. to return. is to load data. is for photo shooting.
You may use the camera to take photos you need.“√”means to store it to SD card or U flash and “×” means quit.
Result display
There are two modes of displaying the result of determination, one is data mode the other is spectrum mode.
In data mode, elements and types information of samples will be shown in table.If there is backup in database, the material number of sample will also be shown. It also supply scores of type to help users to judge the samples’ character.
Data export
Use OTG cable to connect main unit and the U flash.You can choose to export results you want or as date shows.If you need to check the data, just move U flash to PC.
Results viewing
Click “View results” to query the results, the results will be arranged according to measurement date.Select the sample sequence, the element content and the grade information for the sample will be displayed in the table.
Analysis report
Press “analysis report” in home page, you can choose from the left table to export. If you select one piece of result, it will be exported. You can also click “Select All” to export all the results.
Information setting
The information setting contains database update,software update , database export, results in/out.
Note: You have to be cautious when using this function and avoid changing setting.
On and off
On and off can be achieved by simply pressing one button(If you press it while on, the instrument will be turned off).

Instrument Maintenance
l Do not place the product in a temperature that is too high or too low or corrosive environment.
l Please be careful when operating. Be gentle and avoid falling or breaking.
l While using,make sure that the detector window is not damaged by sharp substances, once the detector is damaged, it can not be repaired.
l Do not use or store in explosive, strong electromagnetic fields, flammable gas atmospheres;Otherwise it may cause a fire or explosion.
l Do not expose the product to rain or put it in water for a long time.
l Do not drop, throw, or let the product suffer a strong impact.
l When using the power supply, please use 220v AC power(50Hz).
l Please do not try to dismantle the product as maintenance work is done by the original authorized staff. We are not responsible for the damage caused by the demolition of the machine.
l If the operation seems abnormal, stop the current operation, and shut down, and then contact the supplier. Any problem and any time you called, we are here for you to solve you problem.
l Please use the original configurations. If not and instrument damage appears, it is not our duty.
l If the instrument is vacant for a long time, remove the battery to avoid damage to the instrument.
